I think people are really starting to understand the need for diversity. Our own Ink and Ashes by Valynne Maetani, which just came out in June, has gotten a tremendous response from readers and reviewers so far. There also seems to be a shift from dystopian books to post-apocalyptic and harder science-fiction. We started publishing only science-fiction and fantasy, and then we expanded to mystery. Karl Recently a manuscript was sent to me that had a good story that was well worked out and told in a clear, if you have an idea for an invention. Some had problems with voice, straightforward way that made it easy to read and engaging. Not sure what the protocol is. The one thing I am wondering about, which I discussed in a submissoons.
